“Hardcore Bromance. Really,” Yugi remarks in a serious tone before breaking out into a silly grin.

“The truth is…before the Pharaoh’s existence, I was really shy and lack the confidence I have now. So I guess you could say he’s a role model for me, and I am a crutch for his journey. We learn from each other and assist the other in time of need. Eventually, we’re going to have to go our own way when it is time,” he concludes and looks down at the Millennium Puzzle for amenity.

“I hope that time isn’t soon.”

Pausing, Yugi looks a bit uncomfortable with his word choices, but continues.

“To answer your question, I think the reason I did was because I thought I could change them. Their bullying wasn’t bad compared to the others, which were more violent. I thought they had a chance for redemption…besides, I think my self-perservation is nonexistent at any rate.”

Actually, there are a few instances in the manga and anime where it’s heavily implied that you and the pharaoh could be a couple. For example, the Pharaoh saying he wants to stay with yuugi forever & yuugi agreeing, the pharaoh crying and freaking out when you leave, etc.

Yuugi replies evenly, “I think fangirls tend to exaggerate our relationship. Yes, I know males aren’t really emotional and touchy. But you must understand my conditions when I met the Pharaoh.”

Then his voice took a deplorable quality.

“I was a loner, a victim and never had any one to call a friend besides Anzu, thus my emotions were awfully fragile. Suddenly, in a moment of desperation and panic, I felt self-assured. Confident. Things that I have never felt in my whole entire life. Now imagine finding out that someone was doing this for me. For me alone even though he did not possess any memory to speak of. I’ve never felt more grateful in my life.”

“I can understand where you are coming from, anon, and it is possible for our friendship turn to Storgic love at any moment, but I doubt it,” he says with mirth. “I do entertain the thought of the wedding ceremony, though I’ll probably be sent to the funny farm before getting a ring on my finger.”

“And to explain our interaction, we’re simply best friends. Imagine your best friend and yourself together, having fun, discussing frivolities, and what friends do when they hang out.

He stops so that one could imagine one of the most cherished moments of their lives.

Yuugi chuckles for a moment before continuing.

“The devastation the Pharaoh felt when the identity he had assumed for so long was suddenly gone. Imagine the very person you confront your fears and share your thoughts with possibly dead.”

Yuugi pauses to let his words sink in.

“Can you imagine it now? Our bond.”

There are a lot of asks that are ridiculous questions that I simply don’t want to spend time drawing for. Yes, I realize that this is a bit of rude, but at least I’m giving you guys a heads up instead of just deactivating and deleting everything from AskYugi. And no, that doesn’t mean I’ll never be seen again. I’ll be working on sketches from time to time for asks, but I may/may not find time to answer them.

I’ll be posting a text post to answer all the anon + Puzzleshipping questions. ]
